Got her done

My back went out on me Sunday afternoon but that didn't stop me. Did slow me down big time. Got my new air filter from that Hal guy on Monday. The old filter after 21000 looked wasted.

Like I said my back slowed me down, took me five hours to replace the filter and adjust the cruise control . I can usually still ride when my back goes out just have to get on and off real easy. Left the top shelter off and headed down the street to adjust the cruise. Took my wrenches with me and stopped under street parking lot lights to make night time adjustments. Made all the adjustment in fourth gear and 35 mph. NO MORE LAG! Yeehaw.

Couple more shots. When I cranked her up I got about 5 minutes of minor smoke from the pipes then things cleared out. Get some water out the pipes but I believe that's the cats doing their job.

No matter how much pain you endured, you gotta admit it feels good now, particularly if your bike is purring like a kitten and it looks the same as the bottom picture (you know, with the bike all put together and buttoned up!)

It was my first wing air filter change. That filters going to get hung on the garage wall.
:congrats:

Think of all the money you saved.
What is the typical charge to get it done at a dealer?

Just change the air filter please.

About 120.00 + tax. Depending on your mileage they will try and talk you into a full service, didn't ask how much.

Not only that but I dig the way the cruise is instant on the very second you push the button now.
hope your back gets better:doorag:

Thanks, it is. Usually only last for about five days (except when I got Sciatic, that's monster mean stuff there). Rode to set the cruise then today again and drove the car yesterday. Getting in and out and off and on is where I have to be very careful. The one thing you do not want to do is play dead. Even though you hurt like hell you have to keep moving, keep using those muscles, get on the treadmill or walk outside. Been having back problems since I was 20 years old. Sometimes you have to get into pain to get rid of pain. Sucks but you can't give up. Replacing the air filter and adjusting the cruise control was treatment. Using those muscles to get rid of the pain but doing it very slowly.
