For those of you looking for a ride yet this summer or when the colors are up may I suggest northern Wisconsin and Michigan. There are some great views and a lot of hardwood trees so fall could be outstanding. I have been up there several times and really love it. There is a small motel in Ironwood called the Quinn Motel. It is on HWY 2 on the west side of town across from the Citgo Gas Station. Very clean. It has 11 rooms and a side cabin. Cost, $30 for a single and $35 for two beds. With tax the room for me was $32.80. Nice location for doing a couple of day trips. In Wisconsin Hayward, Cable, Clam Lake, Duluth, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Cornucopia, Manitowish Waters, and roads like GG, M, D, 2, 77,13, 51.
In Michigan there is Lake of the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains, Copper Harbor, ride up along Lake Superior and the entire UP. Lots of areas to ride, very little traffic, roads in very good condition, great scenery, and a few casinos. Just a suggestion for a few of you that may be looking for a ride the rest of this summer or this fall.
On the way home in Spooner I stopped at Nick's and had breakfast. Great Strawberry pie to finish the ham and eggs. I rode content for an hour or so. Then I had to stop and get some M&M's. What a great ride.
