Early tire change

6 March 2012 ------------------ 118,137 miles

Put on a new set of E3s early to get ready to take the Experienced Rider Course. Tires had 16,505 on them, had a lot of tread left, but were cupped enough that it probably would affect low speed moves. I'll proobably go back to the D250s because they cup less and thereby aren't so noisy.

22 Mar 12 ---------------- 118,435

Installed new E3s front and rear.

10 Apr 12 ---------------- 120,806 miles

120 service performed. Only exception noted was more oil in the air cleaner than is usually found. Have not had to add oil between changes - will monitor and recheck at next air cleaner replacement.

New Battery and 124K Service

30 APR 12 -------------------- 122,235 miles

My Battery Bug was showing that the OEM battery was slowly going South. I replaced the battery with an Odyssey PC545, as I have had excellent service from this particular battery. I had one in my '88 Wing for 10 years, and it cranked just as strong when I sold the bike. The PC 545 in my wife's '94 SE was installed in May of 2004 and still cranks as fast as it did when new.

Brakes and Tires

27 FEB 13 ------------- 138,683 miles

Installed other set of rims with a fresh set of D250s. (19K on the E3s) Although they were still serviceable I installed both sets of front brake pads. We are planning a trip out West to tour and then participate in Run for the Wall and will be towing our Escapade. I didn't want any surprises.

Fred's website was a great asset, particularly when it came to taking the calipers apart to thoroughly clean them, which I hadn't done before. You can find a lot of info about many installs at http://www.pbase.com/fredharmon.

140/144K services

02 April 13 -------------- 140,867 miles

140K and 144K services done in preparation for our 12K bucket list trip to the West Coast . . . doing Run For The Wall to DC, Rolling Thunder, and then Americade in Lake George NY.

In addition to the oil and filter change, Charlotte Honda did the 144K services - air cleaner replacement, coolant flush, final drive fluid, and brake and clutch fluids. With the new tires and brakes I put on I think we're good to go.
