I've found this an excellent, cheap option that hasn't let me down in the short time I've had the bike....

 

How does that work for keeping the brake in adjustment? That is the issue I have.

 

Not true. It's gaining every day against the EURO!!

It is not gaining on the EURO. It is only falling more slowly than the EURO.

I put a bullet brake on mine but havent tested other than in the garage yet

 

Do you plan on removing or disabling the factory parking brake?

 

I had one on my 2009 CSC trike and it worked well for a while. Then while parked on a slight incline recently the brake failed and the trike rolled backward into a large rock damaging my light strip and a big of fg. I called Mark and he said I had air inmy system. Did a complete bleed and it still didn't work. Removed it and went back to parking in gear or the velcro strap... Sometimes simpler is better!!

A few years back I put a large stainless steel cotter pin on a stainless steel chain and attached it by the front brake area so that it hangs there. Anytime I'm concerned about the trike rolling.... I reach over and put the cotter pin between the brake lever and master cylinder while squeezing the brake lever, keeping the front brake applied.

Keeping it simple....

 

I am just wondering, would these work on a CAR, with a little rerouting of the master brake line to the button beneath the dash, for example?

Have you ever heard of a line-lock? I suspect this is where the idea for this came about, car guys have been using them for decades.

 

I can't say enough good things about the Bullet-Brake.......I've had one on my Trike for over 2-years, works great as advertised.
On a DCT Trike it is really needed IMHO, it holds the Trike solid with zero movement........I just don't trust the Honda parking brake, especially with the added weight of a trike on any incline.
So simple to engage or disengage.....

While not as important, it still works great on a 2-wheeler also......well worth the $$ IMHO.

 

I purchased the bullet brake. Mine will not hold overnight. I have emailed the company and am waiting for a reply. I want an exchange or a refund. Hoping I get a response.

So, I have a BB on my '21 Tour Trike. I put it on for the usual reasons, couldn't keep the factory brake adjusted, I have since removed the caliper. BUT, I have mixed results in that, after a ride, even a shorter one I often come back after parking half hour or so and all the pressure is bled off. The BB is still set though. I have found once I find this and pump and reset the BB it will hold for days., thie is absolute. I had it bled 3 times by dealers, the last one in communication with BB to try to get it right but to no avail. I then bought a brake vacuum and did it myself. Last summer I rode it up to KD Cycle from Florida to get to the bottom of it, (Roadsmith trike). Same results, good for a day or two but same pattern, and the pattern now is absolute. I can ride to a store or something and come back in 20-30 minutes and the BB is firmly holding. But later , for instance I will park in my garage and an hour or so later pressure has bled off. The only thing Kevin at KD says that it must be in the ABS system somehow, somewhere, where we don't get all the air out. And that's where we are at the moment. I like the BB and do not think it is in the device
( did replace it once to be sure, no charge from BB).
All that said to say I carry a small wood block for anytime I park on an incline. I can't totally trust the brake to stay holding, but again, I do not believe this a problem with the BB itself. I got the same result with a velcro strap as a diagnostic test. If anyone has an incite I would love to hear it.

My vote is for a bad front master cylinder or leak in the front brake system somewhere......

 

Mark at Bullet brake got back to me and is sending a replacement brake. Mine would not hold overnight. He said they had a bad batch and Was very quick to get the replacement in the mail. As long as it works I will be a happy customer. I like having it in case my park brake gets out of adjustment.

 

I picked one up in June 2025. Love it. Will not be using my Goldwing built in parking brake. If I have any problems with the Bullet Brake, I also have a velcro strap that I carry with me that I can use to hold the front brake in.

 

So trust a aftermarket line lock vs a actual mechanical parking brake?
Seems foolish.

 

DCT factory brake needs constant adjustment. Even with parking brake on it coups roll away
