I've removed the emblems from the front and back of the bike, but know that the side covers have holes under the emblems, and can't decide what to do with the holes.
Has anyone removed the side emblems and come up with a cosmetically pleasing way to deal with the holes?

Why, would you do that? Thats $18.000.00 Bling and can get you on the GWBBA list.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the GWBBA?
That's the "pimp my ride" contingent of our forum.
They'll buy chrome rather than eat; lights instead of air. That kind of thing.

As opposed to the LIMNCS, Less Is More No-Chrome Society.
We're practical and spend our money on Traxxion suspensions, bar risers, gps, spare fuel cells, & seats.

I still have the gl1800 on the sides just because of the holes. The emblems came off the front and back very easily though...

side emblems

I rempved the ones on my bike, plugged up the holes and repainted and put a graphic over them.

vetteman- the pics of your bike were what got me thinking that someone had come up with a way to plug the holes. What did you use?

pluggin holes

used automotive bondo on the inside of the cover; holes are small so it was easy and required minimum sanding on the outside. An local automotive repair shop that specializes in Corvettes did the painting. Besides being a friend and having restored a '65 Vette for me, who better to work on plastic than a Corvette specialist? BTW, I have no Honda logos anywhere on the bike, took them all off.

Thanks, Vetteman. That's what I thought you probably did. And you're right, to work on plastic, a Corvette specialist would be the likely choice.
Thanks again.

Buck, does your camera have a timer on it? If it does, grab a step ladder and set the camera on one of the middle steps, hit the timer and run like heck to get to the bike before it goes off.

I have a lot of camera stuff, so I have a tripod I use, but not everyone has those lying around.

I removed mine a couple of years ago. Bought a couple of black plastic plugs from the local hardware store to fill the holes.

......fortunately my bike is black and the plugs blend right in.

naw, it's a cheap Kodak digital, no nutin. I'll find someone then get back on line and let someone else tell me how to replace the large pic at the msg. bottom. BTW, noticed a Blue Knight logo from St. Aug. Once upon a time, like in the 80s, I was a shift Sgt. in Dade County (forgive me for being politically incorrect) Miami-Dade County, at North Bay. Had all we could take of scenic south Florida, grabbed the flag and came home. Got my first retirement check last week. Damn life is good!

I'm not really going for bling. I'm going for ease of cleaning. Also, if the emblem was silver like the rest of the plastic chrome on the bike, it might be a different story.

Hey Mudbug, that looks sharp! :yes1: Those just stickers or decals? Or do they secure to the side cover via the small holes?
