Does anyone know if Harley Ultra Classic Headsets will work with the Goldwing? I can get a set for cheap, but I haven't seen them, so I don't know what sort of connector they have.

The GL uses 5 pin DIN plug, the recent HD's use 7 pin DIN plugs. Based on jjambor's comment I assume the pre 96 HD used 5 pin plugs. I have been unable to locate an adapter the get from the 7 pin HD headset to the 5 pin GL intercom. Hope this helps.

If you're talking about a Harley OEM headset, my '01 Ultra headsets have a 7 pin connector and as mentioned the Honda has a 5 pin. It was my understanding that the Ultra had a "pre-amped" mic that required the 2 extra pins for the power.

The Ultra headsets use a one-piece cord; someone may make a cord replacement that would fit the Honda.

There are after market headsets that will work on both with a change of the lower cord. I have one that I believe is a J&M that I use on both.

You might check with these folks for a Harley conversion cord.

Thanks for the replies. I've called a couple of places and I think I've been convinced that this will not work.

Keep an eye on the classifieds on this board. Headsets go up for sale every once in awhile.

If you can find a pre-96 Harley Headset, BUY IT! It was made by CycleComm before they were forced out of business by another headset manufacturer for patent infringement.
