Hello, all.
New '19 Gold Wing Tour DCT owner, sigining in.
I just picked up the new Wing Saturday, and am looking forward to an enjoyable ownership experience.
A little bit about me.
I'm coming from a '14 BMW R1200RT (loved it, best bike of the many I've owned.)
I test rode back-to-back a '19 BMW R1250RT and new Wing Tour DCT, and the Wing's suspension was noticeably better than the RT's, plus I loved the Wing's almost diesel-like power delivery.
I've owned a Wing in past, a 2007 GL1800, loved it.
Before that, a 2004 BMW R1150RT, loved it.
Before that, a 2003 Homda ST1300A, loved it.
Before that, a 1992 Honda ST1100A, loved it.
Add to that a number of Ducatis, Moto Guzzis and a Montesa trail bike, and that pretty much sums up my 40 plus years of motorcycling.
I'm a short guy, 5'8" with a 30-in inseam. I ride solo 100-percent of the time.
The gang of riders I hang with are mostly longer distance riders; 800-900 km days are common for us. Most of them are BMW RT, GS/GSA riders, with a couple of FJRs and Super Teneres for good measure. My new Wing will make 3 new generation Gold Wings in our group of friends.
We ride rain shine, or, more recently, in snow. The latter, not by choice.
That's it.
Looking forward to sharing the wisdom of the folks here.
Cheers.
