I have a set of Kury 4509 pegs that I have installed on my engine guards. I don't like the position and want to mount them as close to the engine as possible, right past the radius next to where the engine guard meets the plastic. However there is a molded piece of rubber and some formed metal behind the rubber booty. I need to remove all that to mount the clamp for the pegs. My question: Will this let the warm air that normally comes out of my foot warmers to be reduced? What is the purpose of the rubber booty? Is it for looks or effect? I'd hate to cut them off and loose foot heat. Thanks
