Here's a question that I don't think I've seen here... and I figure maybe some of you guys who either own or work in cycle shops might know:
If one was interested in becoming a Honda certified motorcycle mechanic... where would one go to receive said training?
I've seen some of the commercials on tv for general motorcycle repair schools... and even for some that say they have programs for Harley-Davidson and/or BMW certification. But I can't recall ever seeing anything about Honda certification (if there is such a thing).
My reason for asking is two-fold.
First & foremost... it's something I've considered doing after I retire. But although I know that I'm pretty capable at handling most mechanical things... there are definitely aspects of it that I don't know. So even if eventually decide that I don't want a 2nd career, I think the education would still be beneficial, and I'd definitely have the time & means to attend.
However, the real reason for my question now is... we've got a trainee in my building who, although he's a very bright guy, it's becoming obvious even to him that ATC might not be the best option as a career choice. But, he is mechanically inclined, and likes motorcycles. So in the course of discussing his options one day in the break room... the idea of becoming a certified mechanic came up.
Anyway, depending on the feedback I get... I figured I could forward it to him, and maybe even begin some research into it for myself at some point.
Thanks,
