Several months after my Hondaline heated grips failed, my dealer spent a lot of time troubleshooting the problem and eventually replaced the grips and electronics. Now, almost a year later, they seem to be failing again.

When I start to ride with a cold bike, the grips heat up fine. But after 5-10 minutes, they fail. Monday-Tuesday they worked fine. Wednesday-Friday, they worked for only the first 5-10 minutes on my commute from home and back home in the evening.

Any suggestions?

I had the same kind of issue with my 2006 heated seat, after some non-success with dealer lack of knowledge about the comfort pkg, the dealer put a new heat controller on it. The heat controller is located right of the battery and behind the left saddle bag. the service manual does not have a test for the controller, you check the seat and grip components and if you find nothing wrong, it says to change the controller. That cured all of the ills so get your dealer to swap one out. GOOD LUCK!!
