Crank HP is 118, I believe it is 100 HP at the rear wheel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Pretty close Bob. As much as some cars on the road. Whatever it is, it is more than adequate, even for my trike. I can leave most cars like they are sitting still, if I choose to do so....which I usually don't. Got racing out of my system years ago.

Ride safe.

HP

I have had mine on a couple of Dynos and got 99 and 101 HP respectively.

Torque I don't remember.

Oh it's a 2001 Yellow...

Running Synthetic.

Nough Said!

GL1800 February 2001
0-60 3.77 sec
1/4 mile 12.14 sec @ 105.92 mph
Measured top speed 123 mph
Rear wheel 100.7 hp, torque 108.3 ft lbs

Supposedly, the HP and torque have diminished a bit with the newer ECM.

Not sure about the '01, read the '06 has 110 at the rear wheel. Personal experience, MORE than enough for me!

Much talk of the fastest color, but as someone on here says, "Once you go Black, ya never look Back!" No boast of speed needed when you are in front. :p

Wish I hadda thought of that!

Thanks WANDERER for making a point

at about 3000 rpm the motor produces about 60 HP

At about 2000 rpm it's about 35 HP

Fact is the way most of us ride we never see the >100 HP...at least I don't ride at 5500 RPM

I never really understood this horsepower discussion anyway. What I really want is torque. When I roll on the throttle, I want it to go.

And, this Goldwing torque band is soooooooo wide and so powerful it makes discussions about horsepower meaningless to me.

Just my opinion. :D
