These break in threads are kind of like oil threads.

I'll agree that combustion pressure is important to ring sealing.

I disagree with the statement that if you don't run it hard in the first 20 miles your motor will not seal.

Use common sense. Vary the RPM and load in the first few hundred miles as best as you can.

If running it hard from the get go was the only way to get good ring seal many engines would burn excessive oil. The contrast is also valid.

What I've heard is 3rd gear 30-60-30 and do it 10 times, always using engine breaking when coming back to 30 for back pressure against rings.

Most engine builders, car, bike, snowmobile, etc, break them in on a dyno. So the 2nd or 3rd gear pulls go all the way through redline till the limiter hit, or torque falls off.
But yeah, just like oil threads!! Lol
