For the first time, I'd go with the tried and true 195/55 tire. You wont have to worry about any rubbing issues. If you want to experiment later, have at it but for your first CT, make it easy on yourself.

Joe, the best fitting and most popular size is the 195/55-16.

There are others using different sizes as well.
:agree: You may run into slight fitment problems with the larger size tire, as in rubbing!

I have used up four in the 195/55 size, and wanted to experiment so I went to a 205/60 TT. It did rub on the swing arm for about 50 miles but all good now.

I've read about this rubbing on the swing arm, what happens, does the tire just wear away until it doesn't rub anymore?

In my case, the 195/65 rubbed the swing arm at higher speeds for a while and my current 205/60 also rubbed the swing arm at higher speeds.

The tire will either rub until it clears or it will rub at higher speeds until the tire wears enough that it doesn't contact the swing arm at higher speeds. Either way, it is a temporary situation that to date has caused no problems other than concern.
