And a loud stereo so the neighbors can't hear you cussing, and a First Aid kit.

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH I SEE - THE DEALER WILL DO IT-
THANKS- JODE
Joded,

When you say dealer, I imagine that you mean Honda dealer. You can also look for a Motorcycle Tire Dealer. They will usually get you in and out in a short time; installing tires is their job; they can check your brake pads at the same time and replace if necessary.

I prefer a Motorcycle Tire Dealer to do the tires on my bike. It's what they do all day, every day.

Changing ones own tires is not as baisc as it might seem to the uninititated. You can get a good idea of the process by visiting Fred Harmon's web pages with step by step photo's and narrative. Bulldog forgot the air supply necessary to inflate the tire quickly enough to properly seat the beads. I don't use what I consider to be "chemicles" in changing tires; unless you consider soap solution to be chemicles. I am surprised your search of this site was unfruitfulp; there is a tone of stuff back logged on the subject.

You gotta really want to do this. I have but question my sanity.

Even after buying all the equipment and modifying most of it, plus building some special tools... it was a nightmare of a job. Good results in the end but it took two of us the first time around to get the deed done. I think it'll be smoother down stream because of the progression on the learning curve.

Advice... by a case of beer to apply to several friends and make sure they have the entire day free. Spend the night before with Fred and his movie.

All I can say is if you have never changed a tire before then this is the wrong one to be learning on. Good Luck :!:

I have a Motorcycle Tire Dealer that is not too far from me. The name of the company is Wheel Works, located in Garden Grove, CA.

These shops are not everywhere. Some people may be locked into the Honda Dealer unless they are willing to travel some distance.

You can try www.yellowpages.com as well as other search engines. Talking to other riders in your area might be better as they will let you know about their experiences at that shop.

If you can find a GW specialty shop in your area, you may have found a place for quick in and out service. (My GW shop does a oil & filter when I come in and while I wait and charges $35. That's no appointment and done in 30 minutes or less.)

Good luck in your search!

i have a local shop down the street , i pull the wheels , he changes the tire , and he will let me clean the rim before reinstalation. cleaning the rim is the main reason i wanted to change them myself. last time around ,i took it to my wheels to a honda
dealer and i had leaks in both tires from day one.

I also documented both front and rear tire changes in my video. You can do your own tires with about a $100 investment in tools and taking the time to learn.
Great docs, but the suggestion to take your own wheels off and bring them to a dealer makes sense.. It also won't make your dentist rich replacing teeth when the $100 tools knock them out.. JMHO.. Many dealers will mount/balance them for $25ea if you bring them in.. I've done it myself with the professional tools and would still be willing to pay someone else to do it..
