My key won't turn to ignition when I want to start the bike. It's a 2005 Goldwing trike. This problem just popped up. The key turns to the other positions. I squirted a recommended lubricant, but no luck. Any other suggestions. If not, can the ignition switch be removed and changed without taking off the entire shelter?

Clarification please... "won't turn to ignition, but turns to other positions?" If you are turning to "ACC" position, that is past the run position. Will it turn past run to ACC?

Is the switch in the "Fork Lock" position? You may need to move the bars to release pressure for the switch to unlock.

It's not in the locked position. It will turn to ACC but not to "Ignition." That's the problem.

Ignoring the lock position, it will go from Off to On to ACC. "Ignition" is just a label on the ring so you know this is the Ignition switch.


To start the bike, the key must be in the "On" position.

It's not in the locked position. It will turn to ACC but not to "Ignition." That's the problem.

One push and click counterclockwise is LOCK, one click clockwise is ON, last click clockwise is ACC. I think you are looking for ON.
