In state SS1000 in spring of 2015

Well for a variety of reasons, I did not do a second SS1000 this year. However, I do still want to do an in-state SS1000 in Kansas. I was thinking about making it a 4 corners ride. It is a little over 1200 miles to go around the outside of the state while avoiding Interstate highways. Google says it is about 20 hours, so that should be possible. I was thinking about going next spring in either late April or early May. Anyone else want to join me? I think this one will be significantly more challenging than the last one that was about 80% Interstate.

Yes, it will be more challenging, especially in the dark.

It looks like the majority of my riding in the dark will be along the eastern side of the state. I will get to see the west and southwest parts of the state in broad daylight! I'm excited about that. :joke: I grew up in western KS and therefore am painfully familiar with the sameness that exists out there for mile after mile.

I am really wanting to get the high beam HIDs installed before riding that far on 2 lane roads at night. I've already got the low beams converted.
April SS1000

Well, at this point, I am shooting for the four corners ride April 11, 2015. I am planning on being able to finish in about 22 hours of clock time, so I think I'm planning to start at 6 AM on the 11th and be finished by about 4 AM on the 12th. The ride through the western part of KS will be long and boring, so I'm planning on taking audio books with me. I'm going to work on the route more before I choose a definite starting place. If you are interested, block out the dates and let me know.

EDIT: Well, that is bad. It looks like May 2 would be better.

That's the weekend of the Roger's Ride In. I would imagine a lot of us will be in Arkansas that weekend.

OK. It looks like the May 2 would work better.
