Am looking for a Route Suggestion, going Southbound from Alamosa CO to Sante Fe NM.

I'd like to do the "Tao's Loop", but can only do 1/2 of it... So then, which "side" of the loop is best:

This one...

Or this one?

Also, is this section worth adding?

The route through Chama is definitely the best choice. I would also recommend taking the option of Hwy 64 through Taos. It's a nice place to stop & take a break, & a pretty place. Then south along the Rio Grande river through the canyon. A much more interesting ride, as I find 285 a little boring after a while.

Also, if you're ever back in the area, some really nice riding further east, through Red River, Angel Fire, then the back way into Taos. Or through the mountains, down to Las Vegas, then to Santa Fe.

Best of luck on your trip.
