Matt, I am in Palmer, and last year was just over a thousand with a $500 deductible. I save about $200 by cancelling for the winter and then getting a new plate and reg. in the spring.
a bit of a hassle, but it's worth it.
Come on retirement!
Take care, Eric

Matt,

I am paying about half that for 2 bikes here in NY and I feel that I am getting ripped.

Maybe when you hit 65 years of age, they will give you half of your premiums back.....LOL

High taxes & Insurance rates, cold weather & long winters. no to mention liberal politicians. Oh my Ted Kennedy??? My skid marks are still visable on I95 South. I left NE 10 years ago and never looked back. Why on earth do you stay? I do love the Patriots and Red Sox. Once New England sports gets in your blood, it is hards to shake.

I lived in Mass and went all through JHS and HS in the early 50's. It was great place to live in those days. Then the s..t hit the fan and the liberals moved in.

You guys ought to see how fast you can get the hell out of there. You are surrounded by the Kennedy and Kerry types. What do you expect? It will just get worse. The state is controlled by socialists and commies. Taxes are the least of your problems. Your freedoms are at risk as well as your moral standards.

See ya

It's not the politics down there, it's the attitude of the drivers. Lots of them are too high strung. Like road rage and "do it to them before they get a chance to do it to you".

New Hampshire used to be much safer before all the Mass. people started coming up here.

Paid $535 for max. coverage with min. deductable here in NH. Age 64.

Not dead yet but much more relaxed since retirement.

Too much competition and stress with all those high tech. jobs.

The Massachusetts Motorcycle Association is suing the state over illegally high insurance rates in Massachusetts. Politics ARE involved. The rates are fixed here by the politicians instead of allowing competition like other states. I have not heard of any state with higher rates.

Just curious, how bad is your auto insurance?

Varider asks why do I stay here in MA?
I am 44 years old with two teenage kids and I have 19 years into my union job at a large chemical plant in Springfield. Next spring I will get my fifth vacation week, and I qualify for retirement at age 55, if I choose.
Does that answer your question?

Darryl, I'm running an '02 Chevy Silverado....my new insurance bill is
$1123. I get a Credit Step (Safe Driver) discount of $334, for a net premium of $789.

Of course, this is based on '03 rates, as the insurance commission hasn't set the '04 rates yet.....
I just know the rates won't be going down.

Full coverage with fairly high liability limits with a $1000 deductable for a $29000 minivan and an older Accord worth about $5000 for me is around $1600.

Full coverage with the same liability limits and a $500 deductable for my sv650 which cost $5500 new is $800. I was quoted $1600 for a $19000 GL1800.

:shock::shock: GOOD GRIEF! I had a heart attack yesterday when quoted $595 for full coverage on the 01 Wing and liability on a 79 CX500 and that was the best one I got. You got my sympathies, but that's not gonna get you a better rate.

I don't know what the problem is in Taxachusettes, I just got through talking to my sister, she lives in N. Bellerica and her insurance is $300 bucks a year ???? and her husband is paying $375, although they are both driving Katanas. I suppose that would make a big differance.

Insurance rates Taxachusetts

$1000 deductable, good driving discount $1350 after discount. You don't have to get a new plate each year... just call your agent and tell them you won't be ridfing until you call them. Saves about $100 a month.

Something is screwy up there. Your auto insurance seems to be pretty much in line, but those scooter rates are realy screwy :?:
