I use the Kennedy set to connect a handheld CB to my intercom system.
On a ride a couple of days ago, I was told I was putting out a strong carrier but they were having trouble understanding me when I talked. I tried varying the intercom volume between 5 (they could not hear me at all) to about 9, where they could hear me best when sitting still. However, when riding they could only make out what I was saying about half the time. <sigh> At 9, when they talked it was very, very loud in my ears. Also, my mic stays triggered (VOX) 100% of the time. Is there a way to disable the VOX function since I hardly ever carry a passenger?

I wish the intercom system had a separate a) mic gain, b) volume, and c) VOX control.

I'd really like to get the CB voice working correctly AND to only have the mic come on when the PTT lever is pressed. Any ideas, guys?

Thanks,
David M.

David,

If you're using the Kennedy FRSset along with their PTT hack box, then Mic-Mutes will work nicely for you.

It requires a modification to your PTT hack box when adding Mic-Mutes. I perform the mod at no charge.
