I decided to ride down mississippi river on wi side to lacrosse and then up over the ridges to family cemetery. Then my friend met me and took me on ridges from blue river to lake delton. Then it was early so I rode up to casino in river falls for buffett (it was awful cold not tasty just bad). I left and since it was not dark and only 117 miles home (75+ on freeway) less than two hours. I scared wifey when I came in the door and she was in bed already with puppy. She is working every day at mn state fair .

SOOO if you get carried away riding mostly by your self is there a half iron butt like a half marathon? just wondering I know when I got out of bed my knees said old man that is way tooo far for one day for your old body.

Yes, there is a long distance riding association that includes a 500 mile ride that they will certify. They call it the Easy Rider. 500 Miles in 12 hours.

They currently only certify for 4 types of rides only.


Easy Rider - 500 Miles in 12 hours (or less)
Full Throttle - 1000 Miles in 24 hours (or less)
King of the Road - 1500 Miles in 36 hours (or less)
and
Born to Be Wild - Coast to Coast in 48 hours (or less)


For the most part, the Gold Standard of Iron Butt riding is certified by the Iron Butt Association http://ironbutt.com/


I've personally only certified using the IBA site and rules. But their minimum ride is 1000 miles in under 24 hours.
