I have 68,000+ miles on my 03 Gl1800. Is it necessary to adjust the valves? The valves don't appear to be ratteling. I replaced the brake fluid, clutch fluid and changed out the radiator fluid before my last trip of 4100 miles. I probably need to replace the spark plugs soon.

I think it states every 32,000 miles between clearance checks.

I don't think it's a do it your self adjustment - due to shim configuration..

It's actually very important to have them checked.
They (the valves) have a tendency to tighten up rather than loosen up so you might never hear any valve problems until they start to burn. That would be 'a bad thing'<G>

Also... if there is ever any question concerning warranty coverage it proves that you did have the valve clearance checked.
