I went to set a destination on my iWay 600c and when I plugged the power cord (using AC adapter) in I ended up slightly bending the top pin on the arch of pins (if that makes sense) so I wasn't able to plug it in. I used a metal letter opener to bend the pin back into position, but when I touched it with the opener there was a tiny spark.

Now the audio plays a loud hiss and a fast rythmic thumping type of sound. I can barely hear the directions or music.

Could that tiny static spark have fried a part of the audio electronics, or would having the pin bent have done it? Everything else seems to work fine.

It's still under warranty.

I think Jon has the wiring schematic on the unit... so he'd be the one to ask.

However, thanks for the 'heads-up'... so I'll know NOT to do that to mine.

This is the pinout of the power cable:

You're lucky that it's still under warranty - you've probably damaged the audio amplifier.

Thanks, Jon. It was pin #1 that bent.
