Hello all - I have an '04 with four speakers. The stereo is powerful enough for me. Every once in a while I hear a crackling noise from the front speakers. Thought I would replace them. Are the J&M better than those BiAxial speakers from Custom Chrome ?
Just wondering if anyone has had both and which can handle more volume.
I don't want to fuss with an amp (etc.) - I went up to San Francisco to watch a baseball game a while back and my ears were ringing (from all of the noise) when I got home. I don't think I need more power.
A hopeful thanks.

I would check with a good car audio store and see what they had to offer.
You may hve to tell them the size and shape, or let them look, but they wouldprobably have the most high quality speakers IMO. I've spent lots of money on high quality speakers in my autos.

I bought the Pioneer TSG1047, but there are a lot of others.
If you want to mess around with larger speakers, there is
a post here somewhere on how to do it.
Without adding an amp, you can only improve on the quality.
The Gl uses 3 ohm, but 4 ohm will not cause any problem,
I am satisfied with these, but I should have spent a little more
for better ones, a little distortion at high volume.

Mounting depth cannot be much more than 1 3/4", you just need
speakers that can handle some water. Also, these are mostly
metric, so the mtg dia is 3.9", you will have to cut mounting holes
to make a slot that fits the 4' dia on the GL.

You can call Woofers Etc, they will measure them for you if the
depth is not listed.

Call Electrical Connections. They have hi end speakers that sound better than stock at good prices.
