I have a Nolan n102 helmet with J&M Elite headsets installed. Looks pretty clean in the n-com adapter plate in the helmet.

Time for a new helmet and I wanted to stay with Nolan and am deciding between a n103 or an n90 helmet.

Found out the n102 headsets won't transfer. Since I use earbuds and have the right J&M cords I tried to buy just the n-com adapter plate with the J&M mike (not needing headsets or cords). John at J&M said no way - gotta buy another headset at $175.

Anyone have experience with J&M and n-com for comparison?? Looks like I can buy the n-com Basic Kit2 MCS for about $130 and is made for the Nolan helmet, so it's a cleaner fit and finish.

If the N-com is not a POS then J&M isn't getting another dime of my money ever.

I had an N-Com basic in my N103. Had to have the volume up around 26 while whizzing down the highway at 70mph. Ditched the N-Com and got an Edset. Now the volume is set at 17-18 at the same 70mph. So I would say the N-Com basic isn't that good for music (haven't used the intercom).
