The owners manual for the wing says there is a manual adjustment on the rear shock to increase or decrease harshness. Be this true or did I misread?

That is the first I have heard about it. What year is the manual for?

Could this be the preload adjustment? You have to put the bike on the center stand, then hit the preload adjustment button up or down. Not aware of anything other than that. I suspect a lower preload may have a softer ride.

I think I misread things after reading it again also I looked at the pdf manual and saw no evidents of a manual way to set it. I think I was just wishful thinking for a little softer ride.

You don't have to put the bike on the centerstand, just neutral and stopped
