Anyone hear if K&N is making an air filter for the 2018/19? I will never complain again about changing the air filter on my 2010 again. I was not after the air filter, but needed to remove nearly everything to install a few items. I can see the air box and there is still a bunch to remove to get to the air filter after going as far as I needed for now.

A K&N will only flow more air than a stock filter if the stock filter is restricting the engine.
In any case, a K&N passes significantly more dirt. https://nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html

Honda put a lot of effort into a new air cleaner system for this bike: https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/12/8f/2c/3dbda379f16e3b/US20170284346A1.pdf
Nice find. Most members have no idea the amount of R&D that go into an item. K&N filters only filter good when properly oiled. The dirt stick to the oil. The OEM paper panel filter has more filter media area and volume. They are also designed to capture more dirt volume. I replace my air filter with OEM on my F6B at ~10k miles. Not a hard maintenance but a tedious the 1st time around. Once you are familiar with removing the tupperware it is a much quicker process of ~ 1.5 hours versus 3 hours the 1st time around.

This will be a job that is NOT fun! Wait ‘till you see all the sh*t that has to come off the bike! It’s mind boggling & a pain in the arse to snap back together!

I'm not sure if a K&M is a ridged or non-ridged air filter, but for probably a long time, no one will know if a 6th gen needs a ridged air filter like 5th gens do.

However, you may find post #15 in the link below interesting.
