put mine over on its side because of tar snake on road and when I picked it up there was no visible damage to the crash bars or mirrors and it slid for a little ways, I was doing about 25 and the corner had oil and tar snake (tar filling cracks in road) I don't recommend anyone doing this but again these newer bikes are made to keep it off your legs if you can remember to keep them in. My pride didn't weather as good looked around to see if anyone seen me and then picked it up and road on slower (I road right at 30,000 miles last year so not a novice just maybe a little over confidence!!!!):
