I’m looking through the top two inches, but if I sit up straight, I can see over it. This is the darkest tint they offer, and even in pitch black this morning it wasn’t difficult to see the road.

If you take it off you can have it cut off how many ever inches you need to so you can see over it. That is what i had to do with the Mad stad shield

The reason it's so tall, although being only a ¼" longer in length is that the stock shield goes straight back while the KW shield turns and goes almost straight up the last 2-3 inches.

I wouldn't cut off the top, you would lose the recurve.
