I lost my FOB on a ride last week. I ordered and received a new FOB from Wingstuff, $100. I still have the big emergency key and I have the code (from the old fob) written down. I followed the instructions in the service manual to a "T", 4 times, assuming I screws something up each time (I figure I miht have the first time, but probably not 1 out of the next 3) but cannot get it to take. Before the procedure, it does say "Prepare a new SMART key". I don't know what that means, I assumed the follow on procedure was going to tell you how to do it. Basically it goes like this:
turn on FOB (check
I enter emergency ignition on (check)
Insert shorting plug (check)
Stick out tongue (check) turn around three times, stick your left foot out bring your right foot back, say four hail hondas, turn this on, turn this off, plug, unplug, and on and on. All the videos I can find point to adding a spare, that I cannot do. Has anyone done this? I mean, I would like to do it myself, but if I have to take it in at least I can start it.
