It sounds like you have a wider jaw line that what the US Helmet marked expect anyone to have. I have that problem too. I do not have a "light bulb" shaped head expected by the US Market suppliers and many oversized at the top helmets gives me "fish mouth" and are totally unacceptable. I have a LSII Valiant II and I had to order a down size set of cheek pads and they were still too tight. But a needle and thread was used to compress the sponge some until I got it to be comfortable. My Dad has a much bigger problem than I do for US market helmets causing "fish mouth". As such, he is using wally world special barely dot rated pos. I tried once at a place that had the "best helmet fitter" to let them fit me in something. They pointed out that what I was using was way too big and there was too much movement at the top. He fitted me something that fit the top and I said "MFH ekH kIEh Wenf". Then took the helmet off and restated that there was no way this will work. He grabbed a set of thinner cheek pads and tried again. "MDKJF DHhhe". That was "Same problem". The end result was that there was nothing there that could work. Lassoing the sponge compressing it down ended up being the best solution to being forced to buy something not made for my had shape. For that, this and the prior LSII have been the best fitting helmets I have had after the cheek pad modification.
