Been lurking on this forum for a while but I have some info that some folks may be interested in.

MADSTAD appears to be out of business. I emailed Jeremy on Sep 22nd and told him I'd be in town (Brooksville, FL) this week and asked if they had come up with a better hardware solution for mounting their windscreens. He said that they had and to stop by and pick some up when I'm in town. I went there this morning, and the gentleman who answered the door said that Jeremy was not with the company anymore. He offered conflicting information (or I misunderstood) that they were in the process of moving. He also said he had no knowledge of the product I was asking about ( I have the 18" screen for my 2022 Gold Wing ). He did over to pass my name on to Jeremy and let him know I stopped by but I don't expect any future contact. Replying to the email that I was sent on Sep 22nd, it gets bounced back. The website and the Facebook page no longer exist.

I asked Google if MADSTAD was out of business and the AI response was that MADSTAD still existed but all links displayed by Google show site doesn't exist.

Does anyone know what happened?

Ohh dang. I was just looking last week to order a taller screen for my setup on the ”04” but now website is gone. I guess I’m glad I didn’t get caught up in the mess, but I would still like the taller screen. Not sure if any of the vendors have stock or were doing drop shipping. Too bad!

WOW, Madstad may be gone? I love their product, and I installed a new one just last year on my 2017 GW. It seems that many businesses are experiencing problems with longevity lately. Hope this doesn't start trending with the MC components dealers/manufacturers.

7 Jurock might be able to replicate your current windshield , but may have to send the current one to them for a week or two
7 Jurock makes custom windshields

Realizing it comes from a contracted advertising company but I just received an e-mail from Madstad a week ago. Opened it now and found all the links are dead, their website is dead and their facebook is dead.

Has anyone ordered from Windbender/Firecreek recently? Great product, similar to Madstad. Their facebook doesn't look favorable but I don't know if their windshields are still available.

WOW! I just received my windshield system from Madstad on 09/16/25 for my 2014 Valkyrie. I then ordered the next size up windshield from them on the 17th and they had told me it would take 2 weeks which just happens to be today. They did charge my credit card on the same day as I ordered it. I read this today and tried contacting them and all their emails and websites no longer work. I guess I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge if the windshield doesn’t show up. I would like to have the windshield instead of the money. I have had 3 Madstad windshields before this one and love them.

Perhaps a forum member who lives in Brooksville or nearby can do a drive-by and check if there is any activity or posting on the front door? Just a thought. I was getting a blitz of ads from them recently, but none mentioned sale prices/discounts for their shields.

Yes madstad is out of business. Jim long ( unfortunately my nephew) took control of the business and within two years drove it into the ground with his Pinhead ideas. On Friday September 26th without warning to employees, dealers or customers he released everyone and closed the doors for good. It's a very unfortunate shame because they had a great product and could have sustained quite well without his tampering. Good luck recouping your funds, you're not alone.

Sad to hear. Was looking at a madstad on a bike at Rockies Gold, very similar mounting style as my windbender - the windbender may work...

It's very sad to see this happen to a small business. When my boss retired and sold the company I worked for the new owners left me in charge. They very quickly started doing things that were not good at all for the business. I wound up retiring much earlier than planned and in hindsight wished I had pulled the plug a lot sooner than I did.

That business is still operating as a shadow of its former self.

Motorcycle riders make up a culture all to themselves. It's a different mindset. I'll admit it We're quirky. It's often hard for other people to understand. We click. We help each other. We have a passion for what we do.
For someone to step into our world, without the passion and expect to lead us, is certainly doomed to fail. We've seen this happen to businesses on a much larger scale many times. Remember AMF?
Madstad is just a small example but it was a business a lot of us trusted. It was there to help. It clicked.

So I am reading over the install instructions. There is a part where it says you cannot install the bracket at the very bottom level or it will hit the bodywork. Ok so one or two clicks up I assume. But it also says (The clamping strap may need to be adjusted) I have no idea what that is. I have replaced the shield before from stock to F4 and don't remember seeing a strap and I can't find a video showing this being installed. Everyone shows after installed and just gives a review. I have a 2012.

@PD III I have mine on the lowest setting without interfering with anything. Only adjustment I make is with the knob screws. I believe the clamping strap is the piece that goes across the bottom of the black base under the "hood" so to speak that holds it in place. Operated by the release levers on each side below the speakers. I didn't have to do anything to the adjusters either. It was really pretty easy.

Yeah, got lots of compliments! Had it 36 months exactly, 55,000 miles, coast to coast twice, 30+ states and Canada. But, after the oil sumping fiasco, followed by the transmission oil pumping into the primary chaincase, I no longer had any faith in the Motor Company, and even less in the owner of my local dealership, who'd sell his grandmother's kidney for a dollar.

When I went to sell it, after putting $7,000+ into it to make it what it should have been stock for what it cost, I found out I was up against hundreds of identical models, the majority of which had less than 5,000 miles on them. Typical Harley garage queens. It took me six months to sell it, and every few weeks I'd take it out to get the oil warmed up. After riding the Wing, it was like riding a rattling, clattering, poor-handling dump truck.

I miss the fact that it was gorgeous, but not the antique that it actually was.
