The DVDs are very informative and will pay for themselves. In a nutshell, YES, it is the best thing you can buy to be able to work on your own bike.
There are probably hundreds of other very satisfied customer remarks in this forum.
He'll show you what basic tools you should have and how to do pretty much everything an average mechanically inclined individual could tackle in your home garage.
I don't think you would be disappointed at all.
