I use Mapsource which came with software for an old GPS. I really need to update it, but I don't think it would be free.
I did find a link however.

I find Basecamp much easier to use after you get up to speed. I did like Mapsource though.

Mapsource is free..The maps aren't..If you already have maps on your computer, I believe Mapsource will automatically incorporate those Garmin maps.

I also like Basecamp, but hate that you have to import into another app and then export again for use in the Wing. It appears Basecamp will export out GPX files in version 1.1 format, where the Wing's Nav needs version 1.0 to work correctly. Basecamp was intended for use with Garmin GPS devices which handle the GPX 1.1 format just fine.
