Our last time to ride for a few days, and our first ride in the books to get our month of May rides started. Tom took this pic as we were riding up highway 7 before we got to Dover. The beginning of a 352 mile day.

Below is the route for the day.

After pulling out from Russellville, our first break was at the scenic overlook on highway 23. This did not turn out very well. I guess facing into the sun does not make for a very good pic.

Hmmm, maybe I need to clean up my cell phone camera lens. This one didn't turn out very well either. This was taken after we rode the upper part of highway 123. The next mission was to run east on highway 16, then take 27 back down into the River Valley.

Our last stop, where we said our sad fair wells and prepared to part ways. It was a really great 3 days of riding. We really enjoyed it. The big question, WHEN CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!!

Our plan for Wednesday, May 6, meet at the McDonald’s in Atkins. At 7:00 am we pull out on a “chicken run” to Lebanon, Missouri and back. Estimated eating time will be around 12:00. The spot tracker will show where we are.

This has been in the plans for a long time, but something always gets in the way. Hopefully not this time.

Today was a RTE to enjoy some real good BBQ Chicken. Below is what we did, it represents a 554 mile day.

Here is what I had to eat.

And this is were.

I really enjoy their BBQ Chicken. Of course it is not the only type they serve. I've been unable to find chicken that is even close to theirs. (y)

Another pick from the parking lot.

The pic below was taken in Bergman, Arkansas on our way back home. It finally warmed up enough that I could take off my heavy shirt. When we got on the bikes for the return trip it was 57 degrees. So much for the forecast of mid 60's. :(

And finally, in Dover we stopped for a break and to take off some more clothes. It was 72 degrees in the River Valley. That is so much better than 57!!!

Today was a really great day. I'm tired, after pushing the bike through countless curves all day long, but in a good way. This trip was a long time coming. Been wanting to do this since last summer. For various reasons there was always something else that took it away. Tonight, I'm a happy camper!! :)

What a ride, I ended up with only 530 miles but really enjoyed it!! Going that far for lunch, I had to get up and leave before breakfast so really worked up an appetite getting there. Bob showed you a before picture, this is the after shot of a very good lunch.
As an old chicken farmer friend used to say.. "only a rooster gets better chicken than this"🤪🤣😂

I would have had to get up way before breakfast to do that and would have had 3/4 of an iron butt done.
Instead I put in 438 miles in the Ozarks by myself.

We are pulling out in the morning for a ride in the Ozarks. Meeting here in Morrilton at 9:00 a.m.

Steve and I are ready to ride THE OZARKS!!

368926

We got in 353 miles today. A little more than I intended, but the weather was great so we didn't mind too bad!

368928

We made our way up to Heidi's Ugly Cakes in Norfork for some lunch. She now has a side window so people could place their order from outside. We enjoyed our food at one of the several covered picnic tables she had set up.

368929

To get there we had to ride this road on the way up and on the return trip as well.

Just finished my two days of riding with Steve @revrunt . We rode 646 miles this weekend with temps in the 60s both days. Not sure what is going on with our weather, but this has been great. Today we spent time riding and visiting. As a result I didn't even think about taking any pictures. Really enjoyed the riding and fellowship with Steve. The thing that could have made it better would be if Larry had been able to join us.

As you can see, we covered some of the good stuff in the Ozarks. All this riding is killing my tires. These chip and seal roads really chew up tires. Even a CT will take a beating.
368974

This tire has just over 5,000 miles on it. Those smooth edges on either side is where the tire tread used to be. Time to replace it before I start seeing the chords.

I didn't take a pic of my front G709, but it is well into the wear bars. It will need changing real soon with about 4,500 miles on it.

That is the price that must be paid for this "old guy" to play in the Ozarks with all these out of state tourists. ;);)

Then it’s a good thing I have a brand new front tire ready to take on those curves next month! Of course, I’ll be flattening out the center on the way out there and back too. 😎
I may have all my tires worn out by then!!! :ROFLMAO:

Looks like @gwhobo and I will HAVE to get out on these Ozark roads again next week. We have another visitor coming in from what we in Arkansas call "up north";) We are very pleased that our riding buddy @1potter1 is finally able to break away and ride down for a visit.

Larry and I will ride toward Missouri on Tuesday to meet up with Randy and escort him down to the River Valley. Wednesday will be a day of riding the Ozarks ... if anyone would like to join in let us know.

Wow...I feel honored to get escorted into the Ozark’s by 2 of Arkansas best ride ambassador, good men and friends.
In my world this kinda compares to a kids trip into Disney World personally escorted by Mickie and Minnie (pun intended).
I’m looking forward to finally getting away!
Thx.
