Hi all,

I found this military website that might be of interest to you. I have been enjoying getting back in touch with fellow servicemen from 40 years ago. One of the forums I have been reading is on motorcycles, so you know it has to be good ! I have photos of my Goldwing and Shadow posted there as well.

If you decide to visit the website, you can use my member number as the person who invited/referred you. That should get you in with a free initial membership. I posted this over on the Steve Saunders Goldwing Facts board some time ago, and it generated considerable interest.

My number is 45360 and my branch of service is USAF.

I was in the USAF from 1970-1974. Tried to sign up but I have a question. What does this mean? Last/Current AFSC/MOS Code ????????????? Thats as far as I get. I was a carpenter and the only weapon I ever fired in service was an M-16.

AFSC............Air Force serial number

MOS........The millitary assigned a numeric number to each "job" you had
while in service. Generally your last one appears on your DD-214.
MOS stands for military occupational code.
MOS = "Military Occupational Specialty".

Correction with all due respect....AFSC is Air Force Specialty Code....first
three digits are the specialty, like an Army MOS, fourth and fifth digits
are your skill level, ie; 03, 05, 07, or 09, odd numbers only.

JD, if you are unable to recall or locate your AFSC number, I think you can do an internet search and find all the AFSC's and their description at the main Air Force recruiting website. I think I recall seeing them listed there a good while back, but you will need to do some digging.

Meanwhile, if you just want to get to the Air Force website mentioned above, you can use any AFSC to get you in, then change it later when you have it. 70250 (Admin Specialist) or 81250 (Law Enforcement Specialist) will get you in. Just remember to change it when you can. In fact, you can post a question in the Air Force forums, asking what the AFSC is for carpenter....someone there will gladly respond to you.

Best wishes,
Dave

I checked it out a few months ago. I started getting so much marketing materials from them that I "unsubsribed" after 2 weeks. I still get Spam from them but my Spam filter takes care of most of it.

But I do think its a very cool idea if you want to hook up with some old running buddies that you've lost connection with.
