What he is doing is not all that dangerous. If he falls, he just slides on the ramp. Cars don't typically run kids over on half pipes.

That looked like a 540 to me.

He was facing up the ramp, spun 360, then another 180 to face down the ramp to finish.

But, then again, I'm no skateboarder. Perhaps it's new math where 2+2=3, or 2+2=5, or whatever makes everyone feel full of self-esteem.

Nope, he does a 720 - 2 full rotations. Don't matter what way he is looking. It's all about the board.

In skaters terms he goes up the ramp in goofy stance then lands in a normal stance going down. In other words his toes are pointed towards the camera going up and after he lands his toes are still pointed towards the camera. 2 full rotations.
