Here goes I traded my bike for a trike and ended up paying more for motor tax.. My bike was a 06 traded for a 08 trike so traded bike for bike, then on the kit traded another bike for part of the. kit. SO got a different title. in turn had to disclose the total price the reason for higher tax. But if did the 06 with a trike kit I would had my old title and would just paid sales tax on the kit. SO want Im saying is this right? this is in Nebraska HOPE this is clear

In Indiana we only pay sales tax on the "difference" you pay between trade in price and selling price in the deal. Not taxed on your trade in allowance value but you will pay more for your plates in excise tax also if what you got is a newer vehicle.
