I'm not sure it's all demographics. When a full dressed GW or Harley costs over $31000 or more, it automatically eliminates most of the buying public. These bikes aren't a nicety to ones life and home, they're truly optional for those who don't use it as primary transportation. Manufacturers may be able to get the younger crowd interested but that doesn't mean they'll have the money to buy something besides the stripped down machines. As automation has improved the machines, it has done nothing to reduce the prices. Concurrently workers wages remain basically flat in most industries. Those in management or above can afford expensive machines but when the latest vogue doesn't include dressers or name brands, they'll find some other trend to chase.
