I am thinking of heading out to MH. Thursday from Rastle **** Co. Drop down into Woodward Ok. For the first night. Than into MH. Thinking of staying there for 2 nights if not 3, then heading back to Co.

my main purpose of the tour is looking at properties with homes. Maybe a more scenic ride back home depending on weather.

Any good suggestions on lodging? down home cooking? Any scenic loop routes in that area recommended? It will just be myself. Not interested in any hoe downs, just relaxation.

In MH there is a brand new(ish) Americ Inn near Wal Mart, and also a Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, and a Hampton Inn.

There's a new Italian place in MH (Leo's) that's good and Jamies is good. Also if you want to eat by the river go out to Gastons by the White River below the dam on Bull Shoals lake, or if you want to eat with a lake view, go to Whispering Woods near the dam on Lake Norfork, they both have great food and are excellent places to eat and relax.

Lots of good roads in the area. Hwy 341 south (Push Mountain) is about 10 miles away. Hwy 235 from Yellville to hwy 65 is fun. Hwy 14 East from Yellville all the way to where it intersects hwy 9 is good. Hwy 14 west out of Yellville is also good. Hwy 5 north into Missouri is ok. Hwy 101 north to 160 in Missouri is a pretty ride with good food at Guffy's in Bakersfield along the way. Good food at Cookies in Theodosia Missouri too, with a lake view at the northern most end of Bull Shoals lake. The ride from Mountain Home down to Mountain View on hwy 5 is also good, and Mountain View is a quaint little town to visit.

Watch out for LEO in and around all the small towns surrounding MH. State, County, Local, and even Parks and Rec all set up radar traps. We have the most law enforcement of any area in the US I've ever seen, and they all have nothing to do because of the low crime so they set up speed traps. Gassville set up speed traps on 62/412 daily, and the state patrols that road very heavily too.
