I thought that with the second update last January, we could exceed 8 waypoints on a route with the GPS.

Tonight I tried to import a GPX file with more than 8 waypoints. I created the file using Honda's trip planning software, and then saved it to a USB stick. When I imported the route using the Goldwing's GPS route menu, the route shows up but only has 8 waypoints.

What am I doing wrong? Did I misremember what changed with the January update?

Are you sure it updated the bike?

You can verify the software version on the bike.
Home screen>audio setting.general setting>system info - will display the version number.
Version number can be verified at the Honda download page where you got the unpdate.
The Jan 19 version -- HG.ACM.18.11.29.08.16.00

When the bike displays the number, be a little patient, it should scroll the info line to show the rest of the number.


Nave It will definitely work with more than 8 points in the route, using Honda trip planner and the usb transfer.

Still has limitations on file names being used for the gpx file.

I thought I had updated in January. Guess not. Back to the download process and try again.

Yup. That worked. Thanks. I am not sure where I went wrong back in January - must have wasted 3 or 4 hours back then doing nothing.
