I wish I could help you - my update hasn't arrived yet and I don't own a Mac. My initial reaction is to try to find a PC that you can use temporarily for the upgrade process or call Lowrance Tech Support.

Update the update

I took my lap top home from work, and loaded the update. it took 4+ hours to load and about 6 hours to install. It works great!
