I am presently installing fog lights (Big Bike) fog lights.. have everything
else hooked up... but cannot find the 4 wire plug near the left pocket..
can anyone PLEASE tell me where the plug in may be located..

any info would be greatly appreciated...

On my 07 it's NOT in the same "boot" as the audio plug.

After you take out the headlight adjustment panel there is another rubber boot along the side of the bike and down lower.
WAY down inside there, you'll find the fog light plug.

would be an interesting exercise to put the old 01 ECM into an 06 or 07 with the larger radiators and determine if one could have the performance of an 01 without the overheat issues.

Not sure how that would work with the comfort package being tied into the ECM...at least on a level 2 and up.

May have already answered - I have an '06. The plug was tucked in beside the "warm"-air vent and would have been impossible to find if you had not been there before. The plug is in a rubber boot (black) and points down so the plug is actually hidden. Keeps the plug dry but definitely out of sight...
