For those that would like to learn how to use Garmin's Basecamp the New England Riders BaseCamp PC and MAC Tutorials have been updated in early 2019. Thanks to Gérard Friedman we now have a MAC version translated to French.

I dropped BaseCamp. I found Kurviger to be so much easier to msp, plan, extend, etc. routes. Plus it exports GPX, Maps, etc. files. Just a pleasure to use. YMMV

You're right about ymmv. I've tried Kurviger and found it to be a poor substitute for Basecamp. But my post was not intended in any way to be a comparison of various route planners. I was just offering up the tutorials to anyone who was interested. Obviously you're not interested, so I don't understand your need to comment off topic.

Thanks for the link, I'm saving it> Used New England Riders Tutorials years ago for my 550 and before Base Camp. Not having any problems yet but I bet there are some more things I could do that I don't know about.
