Tell me about it. I've had 5 different seats. You can read about it in the first link in my signature.

The mates across the pond in the UK are having a bloody good laugh at your reference to your "SO's Fanny" :p
WELCOME..... you might give the $20 Wal-Mart pad a try before investing any further.

Cheers! Welcome aboard!!!:congrats:

I have installed the Utopia backrest on the last 2 wings and I don't have a problem with the seat.

I put on a Utopia backrest and the $19.00 wall mart pad - Ergo II pegs and I can ride all day with no problem. I may go for the Mic-O-Pegs vs the Ergo IIs, but very comfortable. Just did 8 hours straight with my wife to FL and no problems.
You need to experiment and see what works for you. Everyone is different.
walmart pads

We tried the walmart pads and liked them enough to buy two more and with double pads we can ride at least two more hours before the numb butt kicks in. It is a lot cheaper than a new seat. only draw back is the heater won`t heat through double pads. we take them in at night so they are warm the next morning.
Welcome Take a look at ultimate seats. Nothing like it. They are out of Canada.

Not a total fan of the stock seat either

I did my first long trip on my GL this last fall, about 2,000 miles.

I wouldn't say the seat was horrible but my hams were numb and achey every day after being in the saddle for several hours.

Planning a big trip out west in the spring, gonna have to address this!

I have had both a Road Sofa seat and a Hartco seat not impressed. I just saw my first Ultimate Seat two weeks ago and am very impressed with it, it will be my next seat
I put a Russell on my last bike. High quality and major comfort. The price made it a last resort for me but it was worth it.
Beads......
I put them on for the same reason well over tens years ago.
Still have the same set, although, a bit used.
Why do I want to spend $$$ for an aftermarket when $$ is better, and, I can move them from bike to bike.

Bobalou
lambs wool seat pads

we got a set of the lambs wool seat pads for our last bike which was a Yamaha Venture. Kept the pads for the wing and got rid of the bike. No sweat in the summer and the heated seats warm them in the winter.
