Sorry I can't answer your question, but welcome from Los Angeles.
Thanks for the input! Does the Baggershield block quite a bit of wind in the non-extended setting?Well hello, and I share your exact thoughts. I am about the same height, and prefer to actually look over the windshield, not through it. I took off the factory original and purchased a BaggerShield (adjustable from 11" to 19" I think) from a very knowledgeable good guy on this site. I haven't ever flipped it up, but I do have the option if I get caught out in the bad weather. A lot of guys love the Madstad but I am also not a fan of the looks, but it must work very well. I'd like to try your windshield, but blacked out for the mean look lol.
Yes it does, for me. I look over the top. 5’10” on a Corbin which sits me lower. My daily driving is without the extension. I wear noise cancelling ear buds for music and have no issues. I extend it on overnighters for bugs and rain and it improves on the already great protection I get. Although the Madstad has good reviews, IMO that look detracts from the beautiful lines of the bike...Thanks for the input! Does the Baggershield block quite a bit of wind in the non-extended setting?
Thanks again for the info. I'm definitely leaning towards the Baggersheild I'd say. Looking at the picture of your bike is making it a pretty easy decision!Yes it does, for me. When I bought my bike, it came with just the lower part of the Baggershield. I flew out to get it and rode it back, about 600 miles. I was very disappointed that I could not hear the stereo at freeway speeds. At about 40mph, you start getting a huge rush of air to your head, loud as heck. Thanks for the input! I'm reading some other posts about the BaggerShield and I'm definitely a little bit concerned that wind will still be an issue unless I have the extension in the upright position. I may have to sit and think about the MadStad a little bit longer. When I bought my bike, it came with just the lower part of the Baggershield. I flew out to get it and rode it back, about 600 miles. I added a piece of scrap shield that I had, to mimic the original extension, and was very happy to hear that the stereo actually does sound good at speed.
I originally laughed at the looks of a Madstad. After trying a tulsa tall, a stock full wing shield, and a 16" clear view, I now use a Madstad. I would say that none of the shields that I tried were significantly better or worse than the others. I like the Madstad because I can look over it and it is adjustable. And I can change the shield (taller or shorter) in just minutes.
I will say this if the Madstad performance can't make you happy as far as performance you an not be made happy yes it looks different but you can't see that when you are enjoying it and that is in the drivers seat.I'm reading some other posts about the BaggerShield and I'm definitely a little bit concerned that wind will still be an issue unless I have the extension in the upright position. I have the 11" LRS on my B and it works well for me; yours is shorter than that. There are other factors in play as well; I see you have a stock seat, whereas I have a Mustang, which sits me about an inch lower. I'm 6', you're 5' 9", but the other measurement that is important is inseam. Why? Because that will determine how much torso is rising from that seat. Two guys with the exact same height will look over/through a windshield differently, if their legs are longer/shorter than the other fella.Hello all!
Just recently joined the forum and have been looking through lots of posts from the past about accessories for the F6b. Below you'll see a picture of the one I recently purchased. The little time I've ridden it has been a blast! The previous owner added quite a few accessories/upgrades to it, including LED lights (turn signals, low beams, and fogs), TBR slip on exhaust, Power Commander V along with the O2 sensor and Autotune, and a shorter Long Ride Shields windshield.
I'm liking all of the accessories/upgrades that were added except the LRS windshield is leaving a lot to be desired..
The original owner did include the OEM windshield along with a completely black windshield that appears to be slightly taller than the OEM one. I doubt either of those will offer what I'm looking for.
I'm wanting to get some thoughts and opinions on a few of windshields I've seen mentioned and have been looking at:
I'd love to hear some feedback from individuals who have used these windshields. I'd also love to hear if someone suggests a different one besides these three. I'm wanting to reduce wind buffeting significantly, but still want to keep the "sleekness" look of the bike as much as I can.
- Obviously the Madstad seems to be well liked, but I'm not sure I love the looks of it. I personally think it pulls away from the "sleekness" look of the bike, but I'm sure I could get used to it.
- The adjustable BaggerShield looks like a great option. I really like the looks of it in its lower position, and the raised position looks like it would perform great at decreasing buffeting.
- 14"-16" Klock Werks windshield. I love the looks of these windshields, but I've seen a few users complain that they don't offer much help when it comes to buffeting.
Please note: I'm 5'9". The current LRS windshield on my bike is allowing the wind to hit me just above my helmet visor. View attachment 416501
Ditto.First, I Love my Baggershield. Yes there's wind, but remember it's a motorcycle and a sportier F6B! I like the wind that I get with the top half down and stowed. Here in Texas I get a constant light downward blast of air from my face down to my chest which helps keep me cool. With the top half up I get very little wind or rain in my face and chest. Simple solution to the problem.
Second, I love the look with the top half down. The windshield just looks like it's stock IMHO!
Lastly, I've never read anyone post something bad about about the Baggershield.
Thanks for all of that insight! I'm hoping to purchase a Baggershield off of a user that has one posted for sale currently. I agree that the looks of them keep the bike looking good and "stock".First, I Love my Baggershield. Yes there's wind, but remember it's a motorcycle and a sportier F6B! That's one heck of a deal for a windshield! I'm hoping to buy an adjustable Baggershield windshield off of another user on the forum that has one for sale. If I end up not liking it, I'll definitely be looking out for sales on the LRS site. $55 is well worth a trial run!I have the 11" LRS on my B and it works well for me; yours is shorter than that. I mention all of that because there are quite a few factors to take into consideration. Like I said, I like my LRS, bought it brand new, with a 50% off Valentine's day offer from the company, for a total price of $55! I wouldn't have one of those fugly adjustable cantilever options on my B, but that's just my opinion. Your bike looks great!
