I am getting ready to replace my spark plugs.

Has anybody installed the NGK Extended High Speed BKR7E-11 spark plug instead of the Standard BKE6E-11?
If so, is there any down side to doing so?

I'd say that 95% of my riding is at highway speed or running back roads while touring.

By your riding description, you are just another "JAR" ... Just Another Rider. If you were on a track always above the 5,000 rpm line, then possibly the 7s might be better for you. There are 2 important things to remember about replacing spark plugs ... without exception, use the ones Honda calls for, and at least replace them every 16k.

If I put off replacing mine till 20k, I can tell the difference in performance. If they get replaced at 16, I'm not able to tell any difference in performance.

If you were going to ride at a very high sustained speed (90+ mph) for hours on end at high ambient temps (100+ F), then I would recommend those colder plugs.
Otherwise, stick to the standard recommended plug.
