Just checked the brake lights on my 03. Discovered that they don't come on with the front brake lever, is this normal?

While I'm getting advice. I want to install a brake flasher unit; it will only flash up to two lights. Is it possible/recommended to only flash upper or lower lights?

Thanks, in advance,

Switch is probably bad....kinda common. If the foot pedal works, the bar switch is bad or needs cleaning with tuner cleaner.

Lewis,

You wouldn't happen to have the instructions for correcting that priblem would you?

Thanks for all of your help in the past.

van319, might be your front brake lever. The original grease gets pretty bad after awhile. Pull the lever bolt, clean up the parts including switch and reassemble using a lubricant. I'm away from my manual, but I believe it called for lithium grease or migh have been silicone?

Don't give up on that front switch.

I was about to replace mine and found it only needed cleaning.

Thanks to those of you that made that suggestion, it save me $10 and some time.
