I have an 07 w/nav with no audio thru my speakers but can hear the radio in my helmet. I have been chasing this problem for a while and can't find the problem. I disconnected the battery but no luck. I am a novice with no manuels to trace by. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:doorag:

I'm not sure I understand your concern, but hit the audio button once and see if it changes to speakers. One tap of the audio button is supposed to alternate from one to the other and back. It's either speakers or headset, not both simultaneously. To hold the button down turns off all audio and one tap turns the audio back on.

Ride safely,

That should do it for sure.

When i turn my radio on i hear nothing in my speakers. On my display i see the radio station, the speaker icon that says sound is suppose to be coming out of my speakers as normal but no sound. When I connect my helmet and switch to helmet mode and my icon on my display changes I can hear the radio in my helmet. then switch back to speakers, no sound. That tells me the radio is working but i either have a connection problem between the amp and radio or the amp is not working. Im not sure how sound gets to the speakers once it leaves the head unit from that point or which cable to test. I tried to locate the amp on the back under the trunk but was unsuccessful. Hope that clears up somewhat. Fyi It was working fine then stopped playing one day when i was backing it off the trailer.
Check to see if the speaker mute button is pushed in on the left handle bar .
The audio unit has a separate internal amplifier for the headsets, so the main amp could be dead, but you could have an issue with the power amp in the rear or the wires that run to it. Without knowing if it's the audio unit or the power amp, you almost have to have a known good audio unit to swap out and try. LarryM is the radio expert on here, hopefully he will see this thread and chime in soon.
No it's not the mute button. I pressed that several times.
@techdude2000 the radio and mp3 player plays in helmet mode so I think the radio unit is good. Got to be either the cable from the radio to the factory amp or the amp I think.

Will do. Thanks
Will do. Thanks
LarryM wasn't familiar with the premium sound radio with amp so I ordered the service manual, just got it Sat. so off I go on the tear down. Just took the shelter off last night, connectors are tight so will start chking pin voltage. For Grins, once again, I connected my helment, switch over to helmet mode and got sound! I can hear the radio blasting thru my helmet, switched back over to the bike speakers, nothing!!! No Sound.

Pulled the front spkrs, metered them, they are ok.

OK, have you checked the basics yet...the 40 amp fuse that's just for the main amp, tried swapping it's power relay under the seat, checked for power on the brown wires at the amplifier's connector?

I would check the connector back there for power first, if it's there, you will know the fuse and relay are good.
Relay

Is a relay something that I should carry as a spare. See so many threads on this board..... "check the relay" ..... Don't know if local stealer would have one in stock and it seems that most relays if they go bad, will put the bike down for the count.
You could, they don't fail very often, but they can and do fail. Most dealers don't carry much of anything, but they are glad to order them for you at their marked up price. :? I don't carry any extras, because you are already carrying spares, sort of. If you suspect a failure, there's usually another one on the bike for a different system that can be substituted until you find a new one. The power amp's power relay would be the exception as well as the 2 starter relays, because of their current ratings.
Just a bit of extra info for the OP, the power amp is under the rear fender but it plugs into the system under the seat way in the back, thats one plug that should be checked for corrosion or just not plugged all the way in.
P/N??

If you could please, what are the P/Ns on these relay's. I looked at the micro fische, and it would be quite hard to pick them out. I have a shop manual, but again, tracing out where the relays are, then getting their P/Ns real pain in bottom end.

Best place to get OEM parts without going to stealer? (Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread.)

Thx
I get all my stuff from HDL, the board's owner. Click this and the starter relays are number 8 & 10. I'll have to do some digging to find the audio's power relay, never changed one of those yet.

The most comon relay on the Wing is the 4 pin 20amp, P/N 38501-MCA-A61
OK, just figured out the amp's power relay is the same as a couple of others and isn't as special as I thought and is swappable with a whole row of others in the bank.

If it's the same as the heat relay, it's the part # I posted above.
It looks to be the same as the brake light relay and any of those in the second row:
