A good friend just bought a new gold 1800 ('06). He likes the bike, but tells me that he just doesn't have much volume when trying to listen to music (either the radio or his XM radio) through the headset. He's got plenty volume when going through the bike's speakers, but with the headset turned up to 30, he can barely hear it. I went through it over the phone, as he's currently wintering in Arizona, and couldn't solve the problem.

1.) Made sure it wasn't muted
2.) Turned down the intercom mute
3.) He's using Edsets
4.) There's plenty of headset volume when using the intercom.

So what gives? Anyone have any suggestions, solutions? HELP!!

I think the "Plenty of volume when using the intercom." is a clue.

Maybe he is muting the radio via the intercom. try having him turn off the intercom and see if that fixes it.

Problem solved!! He had the intercom mute turned up too high in the headset mode and it was muting the volume. Turned it down and everything is good. Thanx for the input. Jack says thanx, too.
