I just received a Nolan flip front. Since I was not sure of the fit, I did not order headset & mic.
The Edsets mic is mounted on the "chin bar".
1. Is this close enough for good transmissions?
2. Is the cord secured so that it is not obtrusive?
3. Any comparisons of J&M vs Edsets?

I have the boom mic with mine, I did notice that the chinbar is closer to my face, so I doubt you will have a problem. You may want to consider switching to a boom mic, that way you can talk when the flip front is raised.

Good luck.

My wife uses a 102 and the clamp style J&M for now! It works fine, but the clamp is a PITA. I wish J&M would consider a style like the Air Rider.....which will be my next headset unless they do. I like the Edsets but I don't think the pigtail for the hookup is long enough to be very easy to......well hookup! I like the idea of no clamp......clamps are all a PITA to some degree.
